FAQ

Will the mount fit my car?

Our mounts are designed to be universal, but compatibility can vary slightly. If in doubt, contact us with your vehicle make/model or photos.

How do I test the Vanish Plate before mounting it?

To properly test the screen before installation, make sure the FPC (flat ribbon) wire is bent behind the glossy side of the screen—just as it would be when installed in the casing. This bending orientation is necessary for the screen to function correctly. Without it, the plate may not power on or respond as expected.

Which side of the Vanish Plate should face outward?

The glossy side of the Vanish Plate should always face outward. This is the viewing side designed for proper clarity, performance, and visibility. Installing it backwards will result in poor screen function and visual distortion.

Can I go through a car wash with it installed?

Yes. Our systems are water-resistant and made for real-world use. Just avoid blasting the wiring or mount edge directly with high-pressure jets.

Do I need to hardwire the Vanish Plate?

The standard setup is a direct battery connection. However, we also offer a 12V accessory port plug or fuse tap option by request. These are not included by default but can be provided if preferred—just reach out before or after your order.

Should I apply pressure to the Vanish Plate screen during installation?

No. Never apply pressure to the screen itself during installation. The plate is rigid and not designed to flex. Instead, you can mold and bend the TPU holder around the screen to fit your mounting surface. The bracket was specifically designed to adapt—the screen should drop in easily without being forced.

Can I install this in cold weather?

Yes, the Vanish Plate can be used in cold weather, but it should not be installed in temperatures at or below 10°C (50°F). Installing in cold conditions can cause materials—especially the TPU bracket—to contract, leading to improper fitment or potential screen damage during installation. For best results, always install at room temperature.
